Concertmaster Frank Huang is the soloist in Felix Mendelssohn’s lyrical Violin Concerto. Roberto González-Monjas also conducts Korngold’s sumptuous orchestral Theme and Variations and colorful Straussiana, an homage to Viennese waltz luminary Johann Strauss II. The heart of Vienna also beats strongly in the lilting waltzes of Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier Suite. Prelude Reception We will host a pre-concert Prelude reception with Philharmonic musicians prior to the November 21 performance. This is a benefit for donors at the Benefactor level and above.
