Step beyond the edge of daylight for an evening of music inspired by darkness, mystery, and the night. Featuring works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Amy Beach, James Barnes, and Armando Bayolo, Dark/Night explores the many faces of darkness, from shadowed stillness and haunting visions to menace, mystery, and the unknown. The concert culminates in the world premiere of Bayolo’s Gotham: A Symphony in Noir, a new work inspired by the characters and stories of DC’s Batman and their roots in hard-boiled noir. Composer Armando Bayolo will be in attendance for this special premiere performance. PROGRAM Prelude in E-flat Minor, Op. 34, No. 14 by Dmitri Shostakovich, arr. by H.
