Join us for the US Premiere screening of the new 20th-anniversary director’s cut of Tocar y luchar (To Play and To Strive), director Alberto Arvelo’s inspiring documentary that introduced El Sistema, Venezuela’s youth orchestra system, to the world. This visionary program, founded by musician, economist, and educator José Antonio Abreu, and championed by Tang Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, has brought the power of music to young people. This moving film tells a tale of courage and determination as it shows how these young musicians find the strength to overcome challenges, change their lives, and make their mark in the music world.
