Who’s Invited? This event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required, and subscribers and donors will receive early access to register. Registration is not yet open. Philharmonia Baroque’s Artist Salons are pre-concert talks led by performers, scholars, and guest artists. Offered a few weeks before each concert set, they provide historical and cultural context in an engaging setting, designed to deepen your connection to the music. In this Artist Salon, Music Director Peter Whelan is joined by UC Berkeley Musicologist David Miller, who serves as moderator, for an engaging conversation exploring Handel’s Alexander’s Feast . The work featured in our season-opening concerts, Handel’s The Power of Music . You’ll hear audio excerpts and gain fresh insights into the music, history, and ideas behind this celebrated oratorio.
