Strauss's Alpine Symphony following intermission. Incredibly uplifting musical works and "a first" to be performed by our university ensembles. It will be a special evening of remarkable artistry. This event is free and open to the public. ABOUT PENN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA The University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1878, is comprised of musicians from across the University community, most of whom are not music majors. Led by Thomas Hong, the ensemble rehearses for four hours each week and performs a diverse range of repertoire from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries.
