Join Penn Symphony Orchestra for a night of music including Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Festival and Scheherazade. This event is free and open to the public. ABOUT PENN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA The University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1878, is comprised of musicians from across the University community, most of whom are not music majors. Led by Thomas Hong, the ensemble rehearses for four hours each week and performs a diverse range of repertoire from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries in Penn’s historic Irvine Auditorium. As student participation has grown, the orchestra has expanded to two ensembles with rotating personnel.

Join Penn Wind Ensemble for a night of music. This event is free and open to the public ABOUT PENN WIND ENSEMBLE The Penn Wind Ensemble, with an over 40-year history performing and rehearsing in Penn’s historic Irvine Auditorium, is comprised of musicians from across the Penn community. Conducted by Paul Bryan, the ensemble performs a wide range of musical literature, including newly composed works for wind band, staples of the core wind repertoire, and pieces for varied instrumentation such as wind quartets and chamber configurations.
