A great piano can do anything, from roaring like a lion to singing like a soprano. Performers: Jean-Efflam Bavouzet (Piano); Alessio Bax (Piano); Anne-Marie McDermott (Piano); Evren Ozel (Piano); Wu Han (Piano) Program: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata in C major for Piano, Four Hands, K. 521; Frédéric Chopin: Rondo in C major for Two Pianos, Op. 73; Witold Lutosławski: Variations on a Theme by Paganini for Two Pianos; Alexandre Tansman: Le Train de nuit for Two Pianos (US Premiere); George Gershwin: An American in Paris for Two Pianos

When a composer returns to a particular genre, there’s likely much more to be said. This program bristles with communicative urgency: from the vaulting cello theme of Brahms, to the hypnotic tone-painting of Arensky, to the euphoric French air of the late Romantic era. Performers: Evren Ozel (Piano); Danbi Um (Violin); Paul Neubauer (Viola); David Finckel (Cello); Paul Watkins (Cello) Program: Johannes Brahms: Sonata No. 2 in F major for Cello and Piano, Op. 99; Anton Arensky: Quartet No. 2 in A minor for Violin, Viola, and Two Cellos, Op. 35; Gabriel Fauré: Quartet No. 2 in G minor for Piano, Violin, Viola, and Cello, Op. 45
